We had a very enthusiastic crew show up early Wednesday afternoon to get started on the improvements to Range 6. As well as the 50m target stand, additional shooting stations are being created. David, Neil, Steve, Wayne and myself were able to get new windows installed on the south side of the building as well as cut the openings for the additional shooting ports.
The concrete benches as well as the vision panels above them are planned to go in next. Installation of the target frames should happen shortly. The large door between the old and expanded areas was also removed. The crew ran like a well-oiled machine — Mike Holmes would be proud.
Another work Bee is planned for early next week, so watch for announcements. Any help is greatly appreciated. Having a 50m range will be a tremendous asset for rimfire shooters in particular. With luck, it should be ready for the Dust Off Your .22 Challenge match on July 18th.
David assured us that he is in fact smiling in these photos. Thanks to Neil MacEwan for the pictures.
