A hardy crew of 5 action shooters gave up their Monday night practice last night to remove the debris pile left over from the tearing down of the old popper bunker.
Henry was first on the scene coercing Mark to drag the trailer into the pit by hand and then loading up the first load of beams and debris. Dale showed up with his 4 wheeler shortly thereafter and all further movement of the trailer was thanks to that powerful machine. He was also accompanied by his two daughters who cheered us on and kept us watered. Steve, slightly worse for wear thanks to a weekend party, and Jim joined us very soon afterwards and kept the work crew going. Henry (the animal) Drouin kept at it until the last beam was loaded and showed off his skills with a crowbar prying walls apart. Dale attacked with his chain saw and Mark pooped our earlier thinking bushwhacking the range would be easier on his back. He was right up until raking the debris. NSAIDs to the rescue. Dale used his chainsaw to make some stands for our upcoming all-steel match in August to round out the evening.
When seeing people giving up their evening to improve the club like last night and over the last few weeks in the rifle range it is nice to know that people do realize that this is a CLUB requiring member participation and not just a facility that you pay to use.
Wednesday night we are back to shooting.
