Eight shooters made it out for our last scheduled mini-match of the season. Start time was 6:00 PM and was only made possible by setting up the major stage the day before. We managed to get 4 stages in before darkness this week and was a great end to the ARGC season. The featured stage was called Going Round in Circles which was designed as a six sided helicopter landing zone that had to be cleared prior to evacuation. 10 paper targets and 4 poppers in a course that the shooter had to decide how to attack. good fun. We also had a 5 paper target, 5 no-shoot stage from behind a barrier with a barrel blocking the targets so that they had to be engaged from both sides of the barrier. Finally we had two classifiers that tested the both strong and weak hand. The courses of fire can be found in the action shooting section of this website: Courses of Fire
The scores can be found on the action shooting scores page: Scores
This has been a great season which can only happen with the help of the members to set up and take down the stages, design the courses, offer advice, fixing equipment, and improving the range throughout the year. It was great to see some new shooters coming out as well as some former ones returning. There still are some matches to shoot this year in Mancelona, Houghton Lake and Crean Hill and likely a few practice rounds before the snow flies. We are also planning a final clean-up and fun shooting day on November 1st. And for those interested, Bullseye Target Shooting begins in January.
