At least 275 people attended the Just for Justin Event at the Grand Gardens North this past Saturday, January 30th. The organizers had set up three more tables than they thought they needed and the restaurant still had to set up an additional 5 more tables to accomodate all those who wanted to attend. This was an amazing event which proves that the community can come together to support a worthy cause.
Justin and his family made a surprise appearance with Justin showing how far he has come by actually getting up out of his wheel chair several times during the course of the evening. Justin’s brother made a passionate speech and the organizers put together a moving slide show outlining the families journey these past 3 months.
The Grand Gardens put together a delicious pasta dinner and a great dessert table for those who left room.
And then there were prizes. It seemed like hundreds of prizes. Donna A. got the BBQ door prize, Mark T. the Holosun site and Carol W. the tablet. There was also a Lottery ticket Tree with $100 worth of scratch tickets for which separate tickets were sold and yours truly won that after purchasing $20 worth of tickets. Ended up winning $57 after spending the better part of an afternoon scratching 30+ tickets. Then there were what seemed to be hundreds of additional draw prizes for those who purchased additional tickets to drop in the bags.
A great fundraiser well organized and hopefully will provide some good help to the family. Here are a few pictures that I borrowed from the event page.
