ARGC Family Day and Fun Shoot
To celebrate the end of winter, a Family Fun Day and Shoot is being planned for Algoma Rod and Gun Club on Sunday, February 26th. (When is spring, anyway?) Events will get underway around noon. We are also looking for volunteers to help run events so see the bottom of the page for a list. Any help is greatly appreciated.
This event is for members and members’ family. On the trap field, proposed events include a “Buddy” trap shoot with a two person team at each station, followed by a “Trap Experience” for shooters who would like to give trap shooting try. (Five shots free if you’ve never tried trap before!)
Over at Range 4, there will be .22 pistol and .22 rimfire rifle shooting at silhouette targets. Free ammo while supplies last! There will also be archery events in the indoor range. Explore the ARGC on a snowmobile ride through our trails and warm-up by the bonfire with some coffee or hot chocolate. This is a great opportunity to have some family fun, meet fellow members, try some new things and see what the club has to offer! If you don’t have a pistol, rifle or shotgun, firearms will be available at each of the shooting events. Archery equipment will be available as well.
There will also be a raffle for a prize basket.
For the Buddy Trap shoot, you must supply your own ammunition. So bring your son, daughter, nephew, niece, grandchild or partner and welcome spring on the 26th!
Admission is $10 for adults and includes range fees. 16 and under are free.
Schedule of Events
12:00 Lunch Available
12:30-1:30 Shooting and Archery events get underway
1:30 Trail Rides Start/Bonfire — Pin Pit

Volunteers Needed!
We need volunteers to help run the Trap events, .22 handgun and rifle as well as archery. We are also looking for a couple of members with snow machines who would be willing to provide trail rides. If you have spare helmets that would be great.
A volunteer is needed to collect fees and get everyone signed in. Volunteers are also needed to help with food and build and manage the bonfire.
If you can help, please contact Mark Donner or Barry Sparrow.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend!
