As many members know, plans were put forward this year for a 5-stand setup which is superimposed on the existing skeet field. This took a huge first step forward this week when the stands were built and put in place. 5-stand is similar to sporting clays but without having the stations distributed along a path.
When completed, there will be upwards of 10 machines throwing a variety of target presentations. The plan also includes (eventually)having all of the throwers operated by remote control. This will allow easy changes to the presentations for each station which will keep things interesting over time.
The existing ARGC skeet field does not allow for use of stations 6 or 7, however, the 5-stand shooting stations can be moved to allow for skeet, such as it is.
The 5-stand plan will be implemented in phases and it will be a couple of years before completion. It is an exciting development for the club and everyone is welcome to come out and give it a try.
Contact David or Frank if you have questions about 5-stand.
Thanks to all those involved in helping to make this happen.
