I have laid out the information session for shooters interested in learning more about action shooting this Monday evening. We will begin the session at 7:00 PM in the upstairs room in the clubhouse assuming there are no conflicts with other meetings. Will give those attending a basic idea about the rules, requirements and costs and we will end up with a discussion on holster training to get those interested started on the path to being able to participate. Should be done by 8:30 or so unless there are lots of questions.
I visited our pin pit this afternoon and most of the snow is gone from the range. Thank goodness I did not have to get out the snow blower. Somebody has already been using the range with the .45 (thanks for the free brass) and what appears to be 9mm. We should be in good shape to get out to our first live fire Practice on Wednesday night. We will have some paper targets in the pin pit range and if the poppers are in good shape after the winter and the bunker is safe, we will use that as well. New shooters can go through some holster training while those with experience can clear the rust from their guns and their brains. Will likely use use less than 5o rounds as I would also like to spend some time making some new barriers in the garage after shooting.
Welcome to the start of our action shooting season!
